Hello and thank you for looking. This gorgeous skirt and bodice are French and date from the mid to late 1800's. This set is comprised of the bodice, bib and skirt.
A body of moss green silk covered in black lace. The silk on the skirt is a silk damask.
Extremely rare to find in such wonderful condition! The bodice uses boning and a pale green cotton lining. The collar is green silk with black lace. The skirt has a little bustle addition, little bottom volumizer!
This set is in remarkable condition. A fabulous addition to anyone's collection or museum!
Chest : from one underarm to the other, laid flat : 16.5 inches. CONDITION : This set is in as found, not freshly laundered condition however has no smells!
There is some damage on the skirt waist band in a couple of small spots. The collar has some thinning spots near the bottom the beginnings of a hole and a few very small holes. There are some pale marks on the lining of the bodice and some tiny rust marks. The lace has some small holes and wear under the arms. The shoulder has a small tear with a couple of holes.This set is not perfect however for it's age and use it's in remarkable condition! I've very rarely seen another set in such gorgeous.
